This sums it up ya’al…sugar detox day 2…
I wasn’t able to get much sleep last night (I have a hard time saying no to people and was working until close to midnight) but I feel a bit run down this morning, but that’s totally normal when you(I) are detoxing from sugar.
I get cranky and headache and tired, but it doesn’t last long and then I feel GREAT! So got to get through the blas to get to the ahs!
A random thought I had this morning was “Dom you are CRAZY for doing this rightt before holidays!” and then “Im done being owned by sugar!”
SO here goes! Cheers! To health and happy brain and body!
Last night I was craving something yummy for dinner so orange chicken and coconut rice it was.

Chicken Quesadillas with Guacamole
Brown Rice Tortillas
2 Chicken Breasts
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1 Red Onion
Handful of Spinach
I started by roasting my chicken in the oven (or you can buy a rotisserie chicken.)Here is how I do it: I take a chicken breast (1 full breast or 2 halves) and spread a little olive oil on the breast. Then, I sprinkle garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cumin. I then bake it in a 350 degree oven for 45 mins. It always comes out flavorful and juicy.
I then caramelized the red onion with garlic and threw in some spinach. I added that to the brown rice tortilla and grilled it up on the griddle.
OH MY GOODNESS….so good! I was really afraid of the Brown Rice Tortilla. I had heard a few bad reviews. These are stinkin’ fantastic….at least when they are grilled.
For years, we have been told whey protein is the way to go, but I want to challenge that opinion.
What is whey? Well, whey protein isolate is a by-product from cheese-making. It’s the clear liquid used after the milk has curdled and is often used to feed pigs. Humans aren’t designed to drink cow’s milk, calves are!
Milk contains so many hormones and is estrogen heavy…men I am sure you don’t want to have to worry about your estrogen levels.
Whey is hard to digest !
“If we have special protein powders created from cow’s milk for human consumption, it would only make sense that it must be because our society sees a very high rate of protein deficiency. But, that isn’t the case at all. In fact, a protein deficiency is almost unheard of in America and only exists in someone who does not consume adequate calories. The reason this is so, is because of the macronutrient make-up of food. Food is only made up of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and water (and sometimes alcohol). Some level of protein is present in all foods, and in significant quantities in specific types of foods such as beans and other legumes, nuts, seeds, leafy green vegetables, other vegetables and grains. The amount of protein required by the human body (5-10% of total calories per day) is relatively low in comparison to the other macronutrients. It is therefore impossible to be protein deficient when sufficient calories are consumed. This is how nature works. In reality, most people in developed countries, including those following a plant-based diet, eat too much protein, not the other way around. We clearly don’t have a health or nutritional need for whey or casein protein powders, so why are they here, why are they so popular, so common, and why is their use so infrequently questioned?” Taken from http://nutritionstudies.org/no-whey-man-ill-pass-on-protein-powder/

Xoxox Arbonne Girl Dom
What a fun filled week! I launched my life coaching business very successfully I might add, worked my Arbonne business and made some steps towards my future of full time self-employment!
Friday afternoon I spent working with Paige at Scout in SLO. I left her house saying “Ill see you next week” knowing I would see her again in about an hour for her surprise birthday dinner at Mason’s Bar and Grill in Arroyo Grande.
She was so surprised!
I had chicken pot pie served in a baked potato! So yummy! We all shared a lava cake at the end of the night!
Saturday was a quiet day and family dinner!
Sunday morning I got in a hike and went home and cleaned the house top to bottom while listening to Christmas music 🙂
(I even got my car vacuumed out)
Sunday afternoon I napped and grocery shopped for the week. I wanted to make a yummy egg bake for my lunches this week.
We ran the groceries home and met with Andrew’s friend Brad for a yummy BBQ dinner at Dickies. So delicious!
Came home and food prepped for the week and enjoyed some quite time with Andrew before heading off to a house sitting job.
