Did you know the FDA has no regulations on skincare in the US? Under the law, cosmetic products and ingredients do not needFDA premarket approval, with the exception of color additives…guys that is SCARY!
What does this mean? Well on a basic level anything can be added to our products without being regulated.
Parabens, for instance, are a class of widely used preservatives in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. Chemically, they are a series of para hydroxybenzoate’s or esters of para hydroxy benzoic acid. Parabens are effective preservatives in many types of formulas and they cause cancer so why they heck would we want to be putting them in or on or even near our bodies?
Arbonne has chosen to follow the guidelines of the Eurpenan Union and the Eropean Cosmetic Directive because their standards are SO high. This makes me feel GREAT about what I am using on my skin!
Do your research! Thoug stors like Target and Macy’s offer an affordable and convient options they are not always the best for your skin.

I had a beauty bar at my house on Monday evening. It was so much fun!!
I made some goodies
Then set up all my makeup, anti-aging skin care, & nutrition and invited some ladies to come try!
It was low key, educational and FUN! Im so enjoying talking to people about changing their products to more pure, safe and beneficial ones!
Makeup was a huge hit on Monday and a few ladies are switching over to Arbonne cosmetics!
If you want to talk products lets chat!

As everyone who becomes an intuitive eater does, you start facing and accepting “bad” foods.
Last week I met a client at an ice cream shop!!! I was so anxious freaked out. I couldn’t even choose a flavor. I hadn’t had any processed sugar since May! I asked the girl scooping the ice cream her favorite flavor and asked for a small dish of that….I ate it and didn’t die. I had a sugar headache and knew next time maybe Ill only need to eat a bite or two.
Today I conquered another fear…chocolate
I ate some Hershey chocolate and I am ok. Im not craving more. I gave myself 150% permission to eat some and moved the heck on.
So fears are being abolished. Food is being put in its proper place and Im feeling free!

What a fun and FULL weekend! Started on Friday as soon as I left my morning job. Got some Arbonne time in at Scout (favorite coffee shop in SLO) with Paige (From Healthy Hits the Spot-check out her blog)
Friday night we joined 7 other ladies at Guispees in Pismo Beach for a ladies night out and some YUMMY food. I LOVE Italian food! I ordered the butternut squash ravioli…um delicious isn’t even the word! Fresh baked bread with a cheesy garlic spread!! It was heavenly!
Here’s my food and our group of ladies !
Saturday morning I went on a trail ride through the vineyards in Santa Ynez! BEAUTIFUL! Didn’t get photos of our ride but a few before.
I rode Nick a 6 year old quarter horse with a heart of gold and an easy going personality.
Saturday evening I went to Paige’s for a fun movie night (We saw The Best of Me a Nicholas Sparks movie) she made us homemade popcorn (um AMAZING) and there was wine and fruit. Lots of laughs and tears because who doesn’t cry at least once during a Nicholas Sparks movie?!
Sunday was a quiet day finally. I hiked with my hiking buddy Julie and her dog Rocky in the morning. It was SO HOT, but we we got out there and did it!
We are having strange weather here lately, but it makes for beautiful sky’s!
Amazing and breath taking!
Would love to hear about your weekend! What did you eat? Where did you go?

Why do labels matter?
We should ALL know what is going in our body! We should be able to read about each ingredient and know exactly what is does to us and for us. From the labels you can glean a lot of information. Is the product vegan? Is it gluten free? Is it REALLY natural?
I don’t just mean in foods I am also talking about your skincare. A lot of nasty stuff can be thrown into cosmetics and lotions and shampoos etc. Fillers that are cheap such as rendered animal products or mineral oil which is a petroleum byproduct….if it is not good enough to put in your car why the heck would you want to put it on your skin?
This is why I chose to start my business with Arbonne. I don’t want to make this post all about Arbonne but I do want to share a few things that set us apart and then let you do your homework about the products you use and love and choose for yourself;
I would love to chat further about this and any thing related. I am always on the look out for pure cleaning products and other things that Arbonne does not offer so if you know of any you have tried and that WORK let me know!
